My colleague ran into me today with a
letter from the Lands Department in her hand and told me that staff from the
dept will inspect our repairing center in order to make sure that the property
is not used for industrial/godown purpose.
REALLY? I referred to the letter immediately. It wrote “ …its user is restricted to industrial/godown purpose……….” . Oh~~~~ I wanted to find a hole…law graduate!!!
I was so surprised that the
property, as an industrial building, is not allowed for industrial purpose. I had a quick look on the letter and looked up the past
correspondence, land search results and even the deeds and something about
building order/alternation/additions was found but it was from 20 years
ago. Having asked some old staff and even my boss, no one knew why
the dept said so.
Finally, I called the
dept.
Me: It’s from
XXX. I have received a letter from you and stating that our
property is not allowed to industrial/godown purpose…..
Before I finished, the lady said: it’s
not not allowed. It’s only allowed.REALLY? I referred to the letter immediately. It wrote “ …its user is restricted to industrial/godown purpose……….” . Oh~~~~ I wanted to find a hole…law graduate!!!
I was too careless.
